'Domestic Dispute' Leads To Shooting, Two Dead: Gwinnett Police

A man and woman were shot to death in a quiet Gwinnett subdivision, apparently following a fight, police said. Two children were downstairs.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A man and woman are dead of gunshot wounds Monday after what appears to have been a domestic dispute in Lawrenceville gone wrong, according to authorities.

Gwinnett County police answered a domestic call from a residence on Braemore Mill Drive Monday morning to find the couple in an upstairs bedroom, both with gunshot wounds. The man was dead at the scene, and the woman was taken to a local hospital where she died from her injuries, said Cpl. Ryan Winderweedle, spokesperson for the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Two children were downstairs and taken to safety by responding officers, Winderweedle said.

“It is believed this was a domestic-related incident between adults in the house,” Winderweedle told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. No other suspects are believed to be involved, he said. Gwinnett detectives are still trying to piece together a timeline leading to the shootings.

The names of the man and woman are being withheld until relatives can be notified.
