Eighth Suspect Arrested In Connection With Barrow Woman's Death

A Gainesville man arrested in Mexico will face murder charges in connection with the death of Barrow County cab driver Rossana Delgado.

GEORGIA — An eighth person has been arrested in connection with the death of cab a driver from Bethlehem, Georgia, whose body was found in Gilmer County almost three months ago.

Juan Ayala-Rodriguez, 35, was captured in Durango, Mexico, on June 26 and transferred to a California facility, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Ayala-Rodriguez will eventually be extradited to Georgia to face murder charges.

Ayala-Rodriguez is the eighth person arrested so far in connection with the death of Rossana Delgado, a cab driver from Barrow County whose body was discovered in a Gilmer County cabin on April 20.

Three suspects — Megan Colone of Stone Mountain, and Oscar Manuel Garcia and Juan Antonio Vega, both of Cobb County — were arrested in Mexico on May 15 and charged with murder. Before that, Calvin Harvard of Covington was arrested and charged with evidence tampering and theft by receiving stolen property. In addition, three others — Shawn Callaway, Terri Garner and Eva Martinez — were arrested in Edna, Texas in late April and charged with various RICO violations.

Three more suspects — Mario Alberto Barbosa-Juarez and Carolina Jazmin Rodriguez-Ramirez, both from Oklahoma; and Maria Katherine Chavez Encarnacion of Marietta — are still at large.
