Here are the top stories in Dacula today:
- The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred at a Quicktrip in Peachtree Corners. The initial investigation reports that the shooting occurred on the corner of Peachtree Parkway and Peachtree Corners Circle during an attempted carjacking. The department has not released a lot of details but the victim appears to be male. (11 Alive)

- A recent protest at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center argued that the 140-year sentence for Damia Mitchell is too harsh for a first-time offender. A Gwinnett County jury found Mitchell guilty of killing her ex's new girlfriend on Feb. 14, 2021. The killing occurred in Dacula after Mitchell discovered that her ex had begun a relationship with victim Faith Burns. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
