Gwinnett Police: Dacula Mom Says Son Almost Abducted
But he was able to speed away on his bike; police are looking for the suspect in the Monday evening incident.

Gwinnett police are investigating the report of an attempted abduction of a 13-year-old boy Monday evening near Dacula.
The boyβs mother told police her son was riding his bicycle to their home on Letha Stills Drive around 8 p.m. when a suspicious male drove up in his car and told the boy to βcome here,β Gwinnett Police Public Information Officer Cpl. Michele Pihera said in a news release.
Instead, the boy pedaled away.

βAccording to the child, the suspect then matched his speed with his vehicle. Soon after matching his speed, the suspect stopped and exited his vehicle,β Pihera reported. βThe suspect got about 10 feet ahead of the vehicle trying to approach the child. The child sped away toward his home.β
The suspect was last seen getting back inside his vehicle and traveling in the opposite direction.

- Hair: Closely shaven or bald
- Height: Approximately 5-7
- Weight: Unknown, slender build
- Clothing: Red or black plaid shirt, black baggy jeans
Vehicle description
- Type: 4-door passenger car, newer model
- Color: Grey or black
- Features: Blue interior dash lights, object in front of vehicle in the shape of a license plate
News of the alleged crime was shared more than 2,000 times on social media in the Dacula community Monday night. The mother, who doesΒ not want to be identified, posted the incident on Facebook, which also pointed out that the βvery bright blueβ dashboard in the suspectβs car was easily visible.
