Scholarships Awarded To Area Grads By Gwinnett Police Foundation

The foundation gives scholarships annually to children of Gwinnett County Police department employees.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA β€” Children of six Gwinnett County Police employees were awarded college scholarships by an area foundation focused on officers and their families.

The Gwinnett County Police Foundation announced the six awards at its Thursday board meeting.

The scholarships are awarded annually to dependent children of active Gwinnett County Police Department employees.

The recipients are:

  • Wandriona Hale, Flowery Branch High School, recipient of the Officer Jerry Everett Memorial Scholarship. Hale will attend Toccoa Falls College. She is the daughter of Public Safety Staff Specialist Cathy Hale.
  • Ky-Mani Huggins, Grayson High School, recipient of the Officer Ralph Davis Memorial Scholarship. Huggins will attend Georgia State University. He is the son of Communications Officer IV Olivia Williams.
  • Slater Carpenter, Walnut Grove High School, recipient the Officer Jesse Gravitt Memorial Scholarship. Carpenter will attend Kennesaw State University. He is the son of Master Police Officer Kevin Carpenter.
  • Chloe Hood, Jefferson High School recipient of the Officer Chris Magill Memorial Scholarship. Hood will attend Kennesaw State University. She is the daughter of Cpl. Ryan Hood.
  • Haley McMenomy, Jackson County Comprehensive High School, recipient of the Officer Antwan Toney Memorial Scholarship. McMenomy will attend Georgia Institute of Technology. She is the daughter of Sgt. Joe McMenomy.
  • Bryce Reavis, graduate of Monroe High School and recipient of the Corporal Mike Duncan Education Scholarship. Reavis will attend the University of North Georgia. He is the son of Lt. Bryan Reavis.
