Here are the top three stories in Dacula today:

1. Recently uncovered cellphone footage shows a Gwinnett County teacher being repeatedly punched by a student. The incident occurred at Discovery High School. The teacher suffered a bloody mouth and multiple head injuries as a result of the attack. Gwinnett County Schools has opened an investigation into the incident. (WSBTV)
2. The Georgia Department of Education reports that Gwinnett County Schools has outperformed its peers in Georgia. Gwinnett County students are mastering subjects and readiness, according to the department's scoring data. Despite the high-scoring data, the district's graduation rate is behind the state average. 3. Over 70,000 Georgia voters cast a ballot during Saturday's early voting. Gwinnett County was one of the counties that participated in the Saturday early voting. The decision to participate ultimately fell to the individual counties after a state lawsuit was filed by U.S. Senate candidate Raphael Warnock. (Advance News)
