Here are the top three stories today in Dacula:
- Dacula native Dallis Goodnight has transferred to the University of Georgia. She will be playing in the outfield for the Bulldogs softball team. Goodnight originally played for the University of Alabama. Coach Tony Baldwin is confident that she will improve the team's offense and defense. (Georgia Dogs)
- The Gwinnett County Police Department arrested Kiante Nelson and Lashanae Wright on Wednesday. According to the department, the two were arrested from their home at 1376 Tullifenney Court after a double shooting occurred. Four dogs were taken by animal control officers. The department reports that they have responded to the residence over 65 times this year for numerous issues. (WSB-TV)
- Gwinnett County Commission has proposed keeping the general fund millage rate the same. The proposal will set the rate at 6.95 mils — the same as last year. The county will be hosting public hearings about the proposal on Jul. 11 and Jul. 18. Click for the times and for information regarding how the millage rate is calculated. (Gwinnett County)

- The Gwinnett County Public Library reminds the community that Good Night Gwinnett is meant to help children get to sleep. The program offers a bedtime story and song every Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. It is meant for children between the ages of two and six. (Gwinnett County Public Library via Instagram)
- The Dacula City Council will be holding a work session on Jul. 7 at 6:00 p.m. (City of Dacula)
- The free Pop-Up Park Play Day will be held at Graves Park on Wednesday, Jul. 6 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Gwinnett County)
