Here are the top three stories in Dacula today:

  1. The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office will be hosting its second annual Thanksgiving Food Giveaway on Thursday, Nov. 10. The department will be distributing turkeys, hams, roasters, and various food items to nearly 4,000 county families. The distribution will be from noon to 5:00 p.m. at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds. (Subscription: AJC.com)
  2. A Gwinnett County nonprofit reports that diaper prices have nearly doubled. Gwinnett County's Helping Mamas distributed diapers to county families in need through its 9,000-square-foot warehouse in Norcross. The nonprofit has distributed 1.7 million diapers this year. Last year, the nonprofit distributed 900,000. (WSBTV)
  3. Dacula City Hall will be closed from Friday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Dec. 26. The closures will be for the Christmas Holiday season. Please plan accordingly. (City of Dacula)

  • The Gwinnett County Police Department collected 191 pounds of unused medications during its most recent Drug Take Back Event. The drugs were given to the DEA for proper disposal. (Gwinnett County Police)
