Winning Mega Millions Ticket Sold in Georgia

Tuesday, Dec. 17, was a very lucky day for at least two lottery players.

According to lottery officials, two winning tickets were sold for the $636 million Mega Millions jackpot -- one in Georgia and one in California.

Reuters reports the Georgia ticket was purchased in Buckhead at a Gateway Newstands convenience store on Lenox Road. 

In addition to the two jackpot winning tickets, 20 tickets worth $1 million were also sold for the Dec. 17 drawing. Two of those $1 million tickets were sold in Georgia.

The winning numbers for Tuesday night's drawing were 8-14-17-20-39-7.

The next drawing will be held at 11 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20. The estimated jackpot is $15 million.
