13 Paulding Students Win Young GA Authors Writing Competition
The 13 students will represent Paulding County School District at the Regional Education Service Agencies' district-level competition.
PAULDING COUNTY, GA β Thirteen Paulding County students are among the winners of the Young Georgia Authors (YGA) writing competition, and will now represent Paulding County School District at the next competition.
The purpose of the YGA competition is to encourage students to develop enthusiasm for and expertise in their writing, to provide a context to celebrate their writing successes and to recognize student achievement in arts and academics, according to the district.

- Kindergarten: Sydney Pettaway, Baggett Elementary
- First Grade: Kollier Murphy, Northside Elementary
- Second Grade: Logan Glowaki, Allgood Elementary
- Third Grade: Ellie Longshore, Union Elementary
- Fourth Grade: Eliza Orrock, Russom Elementary
- Fifth Grade: Jayla Simon, Poole Elementary
- Sixth Grade: Kenzie Carmichael, Dobbins Middle
- Seventh Grade: Emma Vlasak, McClure Middle
- Eighth Grade: Nephtali Nemorin, Moses Middle
- Ninth Grade: Hunter Owens, Paulding County High
- 10th Grade: Kyler Driskell, Paulding County High
- 11th Grade: Kaylee Goldman, East Paulding High
- 12th Grade: Georgie Gazaway, North Paulding High
The competition has been engaging Georgia students for more than two decades and is open to any student currently enrolled in Georgia public schools, grades K-12.
The competition is sponsored by the Georgia Language Arts Supervisors (GLAS) and the Georgia RESA Network β which stands for Regional Education Service Agencies β with support from the Georgia Department of Education.
