Meet Paulding County School District's 2022 Spelling Bee Champ: 7th Grader Anu Ajayi

Anu Ajayi, an East Paulding Middle School student, spelled the word "balsamic" to win the 2022 Paulding County School District spelling bee.

PAULDING COUNTY, GA β€” An East Paulding Middle School student beat dozens of other students to win the 2022 Paulding County School District spelling bee last week.

Anu Ajayi, a seventh grader at EPMS, is this year's spelling bee champion. At the competition at East Paulding High School last week, Ajayi successfully spelled "balsamic" for the win after a 20-round match against students from across the district.

Ajayi, and runner-up Kingston Dempsey, a sixth grader at Ritch Middle School, will advance to the online regional competition Feb. 26. Sarah Broadstreet, a seventh grader at Austin Middle School, will also advance to the regional competition as an alternate.
