Election Day 2018: Paulding County General Election Results

Paulding County citizens decided, on Nov. 6, House reps, school board seats, county commission seats and early Sunday alcohol sales.

PAULDING COUNTY, GA β€” Paulding voters decided on contested races for the Georgia House of Representatives, County Commission and Paulding County School Board. Voters also decided they want Sunday sales of alcoholic beverages by the drink beginning at 11 a.m., rather than 12:30 p.m., in Dallas and unincorporated Paulding County.

Paulding County Commission candidates Sandy Kaecher of Post 2 and Brian Stover of Post 4 earned another term, both running unopposed.

Republican Incumbent Vernon Collett was beat out by Republican Chuck Hart in the May Primary and defeated Democrat Taurus Madric-Morris in the general election Tuesday. Hart earned 8,803 votes, or 60.16 percent, while Madric-Morris earned 5,829 votes, or 39.84 percent.

Hart had this to say on his website about why he's running:
"I am invested in Paulding County, I have always lived in Paulding County, and have spent the majority of my life working for Paulding County. I have watched this county's leadership become complacent and wasteful on many levels and have watched the Board become increasingly stagnate instead of encouraging healthy growth within the county. I love Paulding County and I devoted 12 years of my life being a first responder with PCFD, helping the people of Paulding County on a daily basis. I look forward to continuing my service through a more administrative role and representing the people in Post 3 to the best of my ability."

In Georgia House District and State races that concern Paulding County, the following candidates are ran upopposed: District 66 State Rep. Kimberly Alexander, D-Hiram; District 67 State Rep. Micah Gravley, R-Douglasville; and District 31 State Sen. Bill Heath, R-Bremen.
