- A Paulding County organization is helping people to celebrate Thanksgiving with a traditional turkey meal. Thy Kingdom Has Come International Ministries in nearby Mableton will be giving out an entire free turkey dinner, complete with fixings, for Paulding residents in need. The event will be held at the church on Nov. 19. (UNation)
- Over 100 dogs were pulled from a Paulding County home after the owner was accused of operating a dog fighting ring. 55-year-old Lemark Burrell is being charged with cruelty to animals and dog-fighting. Officials say he will ultimately face at least 100 additional charges. The dogs have all been transported to rescue facilities. (Patch)
- Do you love learning about local history? On Saturday, Nov. 19, Pickett's Mill Battlefield Historic Site will host an educational event showcasing the true stories of civilians as Union and Confederate soldiers converged on the site during the Civil War. The "Refugees of War 1864" begins at 10:00 a.m. (AARP)
- Focused Fire Training will be holding a Georgia Defensive Carry Course on Nov. 2o. The course will be focused on gun laws in Georgia, how to register for a gun, and what you can and can't do regarding concealed carry.
