Here are the top five stories today in Dallas and Hiram:
- According to the Energy Department, home heating costs are expected to increase in Georgia this winter, especially for households that use natural gas and heating oil. The agency's report estimated that natural gas bills will be 28 percent higher than last winter, heating oil bills will increase by 27 percent, electricity will be 10 percent higher, and propane will cost 5 percent more. - The Paulding County School District is hiring for many positions and will host a job fair on Nov. 17. From 5:30 pm to 7:30 p.m at P.B. Ritch Middle School in Hiram. (Paulding County BOE via Twitter)

- The "Big SHEbang Bluegrass Singer Songwriter Spectacular" is on Oct. 30 at Raccoon Creek Music Park in Dallas.
