Hiram Man Pleads Guilty To Vehicular Homicide In Deadly Crash
"This case is a heartbreaking reminder of how one deliberately careless act can destroy multiple lives," Paulding prosecutors say.
DALLAS, GA β A Hiram man was sentenced to 30 years in connection with a deadly crash that killed at least one person, the Paulding County County District Attorney's Office said Tuesday.
Prosecutors said Logan D. Sanders, 20, of Hiram, on Friday pled guilty to one count first-degree homicide by vehicle and one count of serious injury by vehicle in connection with the April 1, 2023 accident.
Sanders drove a vehicle while under the influence, leading to the fatal crash, prosecutors said.

βThis case is a heartbreaking reminder of how one deliberately careless act can destroy multiple lives," Paulding County District Attorney Robert S. Lane said in a news release. "Two young victims lost their futures, and the defendantβalso just 20 years oldβhas now forfeited his own. Three families will carry the weight of this tragedy forever. Our office will continue to hold offenders accountable and to stand with victims and their loved ones in the pursuit of justice."
Paulding County Superior Court Judge Hon. T. David Lyles on Friday sentenced Sanders to 30 years, with the first 10 years to be served in prison and the remaining 20 years to be served in the custody of the Georgia Department of Community Supervision, prosecutors said.
