Road-Rage Incident Turns Deadly In Paulding Co.
Authorities on Tuesday identified the man killed in a fatal shooting in Paulding County.
PAULDING COUNTY, GA β A Cobb County man is facing charges after being accused of fatally shooting another man during a road-rage incident in Paulding County.
The Paulding County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday said deputies responded around 2:30 p.m. Monday to a possible shooting near the intersection of Ridge and Cochran Store roads.
A 911 caller told dispatch he had been shot while involved in a dispute with another man who was driving a black SUV, authorities said. The shooting stemmed from an escalated road-rage incident, authorities said.

The caller drove himself to Paulding County Fire Station 5 in Douglasville to seek emergency medical help, authorities said. He was then taken to Wellstar Paulding Hospital, where he later died of his injuries, authorities said.
Authorities identified the caller as Shawn Christopher Brannon, 41, of Piedmont, Alabama.

While investigating, authorities said they determined the shooting suspect to be Collins Pruitt, 46.
Pruitt was arrested at his home in Cobb County and faces a singular count of voluntary manslaughter, authorities said. He is being held without bond in the Paulding County Jail, authorities said.
