Stabbing Suspect Dies In Hiram Police Shooting

A woman who was accused of fatally stabbing a man was killed during a police shooting in Hiram, authorities say.

HIRAM, GA β€” A woman accused of fatally stabbing a man is dead following a police shooting Sunday in the 6700 block of Carruth Parkway, Hiram Police said.

Officers responded around 1:15 p.m. to the Carruth Parkway apartment complex, where they say the woman stabbed a man during a domestic dispute. The man, who was not identified, died at the scene, police said.

When officers arrived, police said the woman was armed with a knife. An attempt to then tase the woman was unsuccessful, and the woman went toward the officers with the knife, police said.

The officers then shot the woman before rendering aid to her and the man, but the woman was later pronounced dead at a hospital, police said. She was not identified.

No officers were injured during the shooting, police said. However, the officers who were involved were placed on routine administrative leave pending a Georgia Bureau of Investigation probe, police said.
