The general election is Nov. 3.

Qualified candidates for office in the cities of Dallas and Hiram.

The candidate qualifying period ended Wednesday with the following incumbents qualified for office:

  • Mayor - Boyd Lamar Austin Jr.
  • Councilmember Ward Two - Michael G. Cason
  • Councilmember Ward Four - James R. Henson
  • Councilmember at Large - Larry James Kelly Jr

Three incumbents will have challengers in the City of Hiram general election in November.

The city released the names of the candidate qualifiers for mayor and two council positions:

Mayor

  • Doris A Devey (Incumbent)
  • Teresa Philyaw

Council Post 1 (At-large)

  • Prather (Pep) Rollins (Incumbent)
  • Frank Moran

Council Post 2 (At-large)

  • Kathy Bookout (Incumbent)
  • Terrance White
  • Jerry Duncan
  • Billy Grant

The general city election will be Tuesday, Nov. 3 at the Hiram Community Center at 219 Main Street, Hiram.

Candidates for Mayor and Council are at-large and are voted on by the registered voters of the entire City. There are no districts or geographical boundaries for anyone who qualifies to run for an elected office or for any registered voter to vote for any candidate. The City of Hiram Municipal Elections are nonpartisan and are held without primaries.
