  1. The City of Dalton will receive $4 million in state grants for two local projects — a streetscape renovation plan and the addition of synthetic turf on Heritage Point Park playing fields. The streetscape renovation will improve sidewalks and landscaping on Pentz and Cuyler Streets, and create a pedestrian link between Burr and Gateway Parks. Meanwhile, the turf addition will improve drainage and potentially draw more tournaments to the area. (WDEF)
  2. Dalton's school bus driver strike is officially over, though your student's bus stop may not be back to normal. After a five-day strike, unionized bus drivers voted to accept a new contract with the private company that runs school buses for the Dalton school district, but the district and company said they “do not feel they can consistently provide service to all of our regular routes” through the end of the school year this Friday. (NewsChannel 9)
  3. On Monday, May 29, the community is invited to join in a Memorial Day Salute event to remember and honor those who served and died. The event will begin with a prelude at 9:30 a.m. at the Whitfield County Court House Memorial and end with open booths and lunch at Dalton Green. (The Daily Citizen)
