  1. Dalton resident Ronald Langley, Jr. has been charged with insurance fraud and obstruction, the Georgia Office of Insurance and Fire Safety announced on Wednesday. Mr. Langley was caught on store security cameras as he set up a false "slip and fall" incident in a local Kroger store. Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner John F. King said he gave false personal information in phone calls in an effort to avoid arrest. As of Jun. 23, he is still at large after warrants for his arrest were issued on Jun. 15.   2. Authorities in Dalton are still seeking information about an incident of animal cruelty outside the Dalton Humane Society. If you have information or can identify the man caught throwing three kittens out of his truck onto the pavement parking lot in the attached TVC video, please call 706-278-9085. On the positive side, all three kittens have been rescued and are doing well. (WTVC)
  3. Whitefield County handed out free weather radios on Thursday. David Metcalf, director of Whitfield County Emergency Management gave away 300 of the instruments. They are dispensing the free gadgets in an effort to keep county residents informed of disastrous weather events such as tornados. There will be another giveaway in July. (WDEF)

  • The Connect Sports Top 25 Softball Tournament is an amateur event that gathers the Top 25 teams in softball together to meet in Dalton.
