- Devonte Jenkins, a resident of Dalton, was apprehended in Habersham County last month, while his accomplice Letitia Erika Perry, from Summerville, managed to escape authorities after striking an officer with her 2008 Lexus. However, Perry was finally captured on Friday and both individuals now face a multitude of charges. (WSB Atlanta)
- The summer series of band concerts called Off the Rails, kicks off at Dalton State on Jun. 16. The highlight event, Noche Latina, will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Burr Park downtown. This exciting concert series is co-hosted by Believe Greater Dalton and will feature performances by Grupo Triples, Uriel UMC, and Band Santa Cecillia. (Dalton State)
- The Pokemon Club is meeting today Jun. 15 at the Dalton-Whitfield County Public Library. Pokemon League members, Pokemon fans, and Pokemon Trainers of all ages can gather together to trade cards, share stories, play the game and just hang out. - Congratulations are in order for Amy Norwood, the new assistant principal at Brookwood Elementary School for the 2023-24 school year.
