• 3 People Killed In Wrong Way Freeway Crash Near Dalton Were From Illinois (chattanoogan.com) — A deadly wrong-way crash on I-75 near Dalton killed three Illinois men when their vehicle, pursued by a deputy, crossed the median and hit a semi head-on, bursting into flames. Whitfield County’s coroner, working with the GBI, has identified the victims and expressed condolences to their families as the investigation continues.

• National economic headwinds blow through Georgia, though job outlook steady for now (griceconnect.com) — Dalton’s flooring industry is being squeezed by national trade policies and slowing global demand, according to a new University of Georgia economic forecast. The report warns Georgia faces nearly coin-flip recession odds, with North Georgia manufacturing hubs like Dalton and Gainesville especially exposed even as overall employment and household finances remain relatively stable for now.
