2 Christmas Tree Recycling Events Saturday
In Decatur, residents can call Cub Scout Pack 134 to pick up your tree. In Avondale Estates, residents can bring their trees to Lake Avondale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you haven't recycled your Christmas tree yet, you can take advantage of two events on Saturday, Jan. 5.
- In Decatur, Cub Scout Pack 134 will pick up your tree for recycling on Saturday. Donations are not required but will be accepted. To request a tree pickup by the Cubs, email Tom Atkinson at tomatk@bellsouth.net or call/text 404-441-2370. The pack is sponsored by First Baptist Church of Decatur.
- In Avondale Estates, residents can bring trees to Lake Avondale to the old compost area near near Wiltshire Drive and Berkeley Road between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday Arborguard is doing the chipping again this year. For information, call 404-294-5400.
Avondale Estates residents can also leave their trees beside the curb through Friday, Jan. 4.
If you want to do it yourself, trees can be dropped off through Sunday, Jan. 6, in the parking lot on South Candler Street near Agnes Scott College in Decatur.
