4 Polling Locations Changed In DeKalb For Fall Elections
The DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections approved changes to four polling places ahead of the Nov. 2 election.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Some voters in DeKalb County may be assigned a new polling location for this election cycle, county officials announced Wednesday.
The DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections approved changes to four polling places leading up to fall elections due to "various issues including ongoing construction," according to a news release. Voters in Chamblee, Doraville and Stonecrest might get a new spot for Election Day voting, and those affected will receive correspondence in the mail notifying them if their polling place has changed.
On Election Day, DeKalb elections staff will be stationed at the previous polling locations to redirect voters, in case they forget or missed the notification.

Additionally, DeKalb elections officials is also reminding voters if they plan to cast an absentee ballot, they need to request one as soon as possible before the election. With Georgia's new voting laws, the length of time to both request and complete an absentee ballot application has been shortened.
Voters have until Oct. 22 to request an absentee ballot application.
Georgians used to be able to apply for an absentee ballot up to 180 days before an election, but now voters can only request an application up to 78 days before Election Day. Applications submitted fewer than 10 days before Election Day will no longer be accepted.
In DeKalb County, absentee ballots can be filled out here, but must be printed, signed and sent back to the DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections via email, fax, mail or in-person drop-off. For information on where to send your application, visit the DeKalb County absentee voting info page here.
If you want to vote early and in person, early voting runs Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Oct. 12-29, and early voting locations can be found here. Photo identification is required, and there are six forms of accepted IDs, which can be viewed here.
