DeKalb Food Scores: Marlow's Tavern, Pig-N-Chik BBQ, Area Schools

DEKALB COUNTY, GA — If you're planning on supporting your local (or chain) restaurants this weekend and through next week, DeKalb County offers a variety of options no matter where you're at. From up north in Dunwoody down to Lithonia, take a look at the latest restaurant inspection scores from the past week.

A total of 27 DeKalb County restaurants and food-service operations were inspected since Aug. 26 — the last time Patch posted a restaurant score roundup — in Atlanta, Chamblee, Decatur, Dunwoody, Ellenwood, Lithonia and Tucker.

Of the 27 restaurants, 17 received grades of A, eight of them received grades of B, and two received a C: Marlow's Tavern and Monterrey Mexican Restaurant, both in Tucker. None received a grade of U, or unacceptable.

Each item on an inspection form has a point value ranging from 1 to 9 points, with violations deducting points from the best possible score of 100. Higher points are taken for items with higher risk to cause illness, while repeat violations take even more points.

Letter grades assigned are A for totals of 100 to 90 points, B for 89 to 80, C for 79 to 70 and U for less than 70.
