DeKalb Murder Suspect Arrested In Fatal Gas Station Shooting

Authorities say a verbal dispute led the shooting death of a 27-year-old man at a Decatur gas station.

DECATUR, GA — A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 27-year-old man on Halloween at a Snapfinger Woods Drive gas station, authorities said Thursday.

The shooting was the result of a verbal dispute and claimed the life of Quintin Lewis, of Decatur, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said.

Along with state authorities, the sheriff's office said they arrested Cortez Florence, of Snellville, Thursday in connection with Lewis' death.

He was arrested at a South Hairston Road apartment complex and faces a malice murder charge, authorities said.

Florence is being held without bond at the DeKalb County Jail, authorities said.
