Grants Awarded to DeKalb County Non-Profits

Two organizations were recognized by the Delta Community Philanthropic Fund for improving physical and financial well-being in the community

The Philanthropic Fund of Delta Community Credit Union in Decatur recently awarded a total of $6,500 to two nonprofit organizations in DeKalb County.

Receiving a $5,000 grant, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation will use its award for The Butterfly Fund, which assists families of children treated for brain cancer pay their medical bills.

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta received a $1,500 donation for its Reach Out and Read program. The money will be used to purchase books and enhance learning programs for children aged 6 months to 5 years.

An annual grant program, the Delta Community Credit Union Philanthropic Fund helps finance nonprofit organizations that assist families struggling with their household finances and that promote physical and financial well-being within their community. This year, the fund will donate a total of $70,000 among its 15 selected Metro-Atlanta nonprofit organizations.
