Kirkwood 'Spring' Fling Features Live Music, 5K, Artist Market
The 18th annual Kirkwood Spring Fling — albeit in the summer this year — is set for Saturday with the 5K at 8 a.m. and festival at noon.
ATLANTA, GA — Run in a 5K, jam to live music, peruse local art and learn about the historic Kirkwood neighborhood this weekend at the Kirkwood Spring Fling, which is slated for most of the day Saturday, according to a news release.
The 18th annual family-friendly festival — typically held in the spring, hence the name, and put on by the nonprofit Kirkwood Neighbors' Organization — will be held rain or shine at Bessie Branham Park and features a 5K run, an artist market and lineup of live music. The festival is free, but the 5K requires registration. Bessie Branham Park is located at 2051 Delano Drive NE.
The 5K begins at 8 a.m. and is dog friendly, kid friendly and stroller friendly. The race starts and ends at Dom Beijos, located at 2033 Hosea L. Williams Drive NE. Packet pickup locations, registration and age group/award categories can be found at race.kirkwoodfling.com. Registration costs $40 and is open until 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
