Lowery To Address Agnes Scott's MLK Convocation

On Friday, Jan. 18, Agnes Scott College will hold an MLK Convocation at 2 p.m. in Gaines Chapel in Presser Hall.
The Rev. Joseph E. Lowery, a Presidential Medal of Freedom Winner and civil rights leader, will speak. Agnes Scott says,

A retired minister in the United Methodist Church and the third president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Lowery participated in many major activities of the American civil rights movement.
Honored in 2004 at the International Civil Rights Walk of Fame at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site in Atlanta, he also delivered the benediction at the inauguration of President Barack Obama in 2009.
On the weekend, Jan. 18-21, the City of Decatur's MLK Service Project will be held.
