Madison Lewis Remembered

A small crowd attended a Sunday afternoon ceremony to dedicate a monument to , a former Decatur High softball player who died in a wreck last December.

The granite monument sits near the home dugout at the Oakhurst Park softball fields, where Decatur High plays its games.

Madison played for the high school team and Southern Union State Community College in Alabama. The ceremony took place on what would have been her 20th birthday.

Another softball player was remembered Sunday at Oakhurst Park. A tournament was held to honor , a graduate of Agnes Scott College who died last summer in Macon.
