Man Tried To Rob CVS In Decatur: Police

Decatur police identify suspect as Allan Knowles, 54, of Conyers. He was nabbed Tuesday evening.

DECATUR, GA -- A man was arrested Tuesday in connection with an attempted robbery of a CVS pharmacy in Decatur on Tuesday, police said. The incident occurred about 2:55 p.m. at the store in the 200 block of West Ponce De Leon Avenue.

Knowles entered the store and threatened to shoot workers there if he wasn't given prescription drugs, according to Decatur police. While making his demands, the suspect appeared to be holding something under a cloth. The man fled when a store employee picked up the phone to dial 911.

About two hours later, Knowles was arrested when a Decatur police officer responded to a call about a person who refused to leave a business on Sycamore Street.

After running a check, police found that Knowles has active arrest warrants for aggravated stalking and criminal trespass out of Coweta County. He may also face charges related to the attempted robbery at CVS, police said.
