Murder, Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested In Decatur
Maleik Woods was arrested at a Decatur business on Thursday in connection with the murder of his friend.

DECATUR, GA -- The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 19 year-old accused of robbing and killing his friend. Warrants were issued for Maleik Woods of Tucker on November 6, 2018 charging him with felony murder and felony armed robbery. According to the warrants, Woods was a friend of the victim, Francisco Zapata.
The warrants allege on November 5, 2018, at 1700 Weatherly Drive in Stone Mountain, Woods took about $1,500 from Zapata using a semi-automatic handgun and, subsequently, shot the victim in the chest causing his death.
On November 8, 2018, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit located and arrested Woods without incident at a business near Decatur. He was transported to the DeKalb County jail.
