New Pop-up Market Signals Revitalization of E. Memorial Drive Corridor
The flash-retailing trend is coming to the East Memorial Drive corridor.
The East Memorial Drive Pop-Up Market, the latest in a trend of flash retailing occurring around metro Atlanta and other parts of the country, will be making its debut on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 1-6 p.m., in the parking lot of the Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, located at 5135 Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain.
Deanna Johnson Cauthen, a long-time DeKalb County business owner, resident, and coordinator of the pop-up market, said that she was looking for a way to support the revitalization of the East Memorial Corridor, an area that has suffered slow economic growth since the early 1990’s.
“My husband, Andrew, who is the communications manager for the DeKalb County CEO, suggested that I organize a pop-up market that showcases creative, talented artisans, and offers high-quality goods to the residents of this area,” said Deanna Johnson Cauthen, owner of Cauthen Enterprises and the coordinator of the pop-up market.

Cauthen shared that the revitalization of the East Memorial Drive Corridor is a high priority for the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners, and she is very grateful for their support.
“I am very thankful that the offices of Commissioners Steve Bradshaw, Larry Johnson, and Ted Terry have agreed to help me promote this event,” Cauthen said.
“I am also extremely grateful that the leadership at the Rock of Ages Lutheran Church embraced my vision and have enthusiastically partnered with me to make this market a reality.”
