Decatur man pleads guilty to illegally operating drone over Truist Park during MLB All-Star Game (allongeorgia.com) — A Decatur resident has been sentenced to six months’ probation and a fine after pleading guilty to flying an unregistered drone over Truist Park during July’s MLB All-Star Game despite clear flight restrictions. Federal officials say the case underscores strict “No Drone Zone” rules around major sporting events and warn that future violations, including during upcoming tournaments, could bring serious penalties.

Traffic stop on I-75 leads to drug trafficking arrests, discovery of oxycodone (wfxl.com) — A man from Decatur is among two people arrested after Monroe County deputies say a traffic stop on I-75 uncovered suspected oxycodone pills and other narcotics hidden in a candy bag. Both men face trafficking charges and are being held without bond, with one also wanted on an identity fraud warrant.
