School Bus Hit By Car Overturns In DeKalb; Several Students Treated
DeKalb school officials said Wednesday about 19 students were treated after a car hit a school bus, causing it to hit a pole and overturn.

ELLENWOOD, GA — A DeKalb County School District bus carrying about 25 students overturned after being hit by a vehicle early Wednesday, causing several students to be treated at medical facilities, school officials said.
Officials said DCSD bus 1929 was transporting the Salem Middle School students around 8:15 a.m. when it was hit by the vehicle in the 4200 block of River Road in Ellenwood.

Subsequently, the bus hit a pole and landed in a ditch on its side, school officials said.
No one on the bus was seriously injured in the crash, but school officials said the bus driver and about 19 students were taken to nearby medical facilities for evaluation and treatment.

School officials did not release the condition of the driver of the vehicle.
DeKalb County Police, a responding agency, is overseeing the investigation alongside school district police. DKPD told Patch shortly after 3 p.m. that police were investigating what led to the crash.
