DEKALB COUNTY, GA — The DeKalb County School District will be on spring break the week of April 4-8. Here are a few places students can go during their vacation right in their own backyard.
SeaQuest at Stonecrest Mall
SeaQuest features more than 20,000 square feet of adventure right at Stonecrest Mall. You're invited to touch, feed, and participate in animal interactions—including exotic mammals and aquarium fish—from five continents. Come see why SeaQuest has become the fastest-growing aquarium attraction in the world.
Fernbank Museum of Natural History
Travel around the world and back in time as you discover dinosaurs, live animals, amazing places, ancient fossils, prehistoric cultures, and new science discoveries. Throughout the year, new exhibits and experiences offer more to explore. Now on View – Knights of Armor - through May 15, 2022.

The greatest show is earth as you explore 75 acres of wow, including outdoor exhibits, breathtaking walking trails, a canopy walk, native wildlife, and nature playgrounds. WildWoods and Fernbank Forest is open year-round, rain or shine. Travel the world in the Giant Screen Theater with incredible movies on an immersive 4-story screen. Fernbank now offers 25-minute movies known as “edu-tainment”-style documentaries created for giant screen and IMAX® theaters.
Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area
Get outdoors and explore 400 million years of history at the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area (one of three National Heritage Areas in Georgia), which beckons outdoor lovers to experience myriad natural wonders. Hike to the peak of Arabia Mountain, see a host of wildlife and rare plant species, traverse the 30-mile paved Arabia Mountain PATH on foot or on wheels, and visit two granite monadnock (a residual hill or mountain) outposts.
