UPDATE: Two Killed in DeKalb Drive-By, Atlanta Cop Arrested
The off-duty officer was arrested when he tried to enter the crime scene to see if his son was one of the victims.

Two people are dead and an Atlanta police officer was arrested after a drive-by shooting in DeKalb County on Wednesday morning.
According to DeKalb police, officers discovered 20-year-old Langston Colzie was found shot dead in the driveway of a home in the 4000 block of Eberline Court in Stone Mountain. The second victim, 23-year-old Marvin Lewis, was found in the front yard with multiple gunshot wounds. Lewis was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
Police believe the suspect drove up to the home in a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee and opened fire on the men with a shotgun. A third man, 21-year-old Christian Davis, returned fire on the Jeep but accidentally struck both Colzie and Lewis, according to police. The silver Jeep got away and the person inside has not been identified.

Following the shooting, off-duty Atlanta police officer Gregory Morris came to the home, worried about the fate of his son who was at the home when the shooting occurred. Ignoring orders from DeKalb police, Morris attempted to enter the crime scene, then allegedly pushing an officer in the chest and then punching him in the face. DeKalb police say they then took Morris to the ground, as he refused to be handcuffed. Police used a taser on Morris, who then complied and was arrested.
Journalist George Chidi took to social media in light of the shooting to discuss the alleged excessive force used by the DeKalb police officers against their fellow officers at the scene, though he praised the officers’ quick response to the area.

“I found the conduct of officers on the scene to be deeply disturbing, despite the conditions,” Chidi said. Speaking of Morris, “Tonight, his wife told me that had he gone armed as he usually does, DeKalb Police would have simply shot him dead.”
“On paper, DeKalb has an extraordinarily progressive use of force policy. In practice, I’m wondering now. They’re going to have to charge the cop they tased tonight, just to keep someone from being fired for inappropriate use of force. They’ll do that, even though it may end the career of the cop.”
Morris was charged with simple battery and obstruction of an officer, and posted bond earlier Wednesday, DeKalb County jail records show. Morris’ son was not harmed in the shooting, but was a witness to the events.
Davis has been charged with two counts of voluntary manslaughter and is now behind bars at the DeKalb County jail, police said.
