4th of July Weather in Georgia: Rain Chances in Forecast

Fireworks displays in Georgia may be dodging storms this holiday weekend.

The latest forecast notes chances for an afternoon or evening thunderstorm each day between Saturday and the 4th of July.

Temperatures will be in the 90s for most of the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

If storms do appear, a few could be strong with gusty winds, frequent lightning and locally heavy rain. The best chance for bad weather will be in north Georgia.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92.

Sunday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 92.

Independence Day: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 90.
