Beatrice N. Melton of Douglasville earned an associate in science degree in nursing from Excelsior College in Albany, N.Y., in December.
Excelsior College focuses on increasing access to college degrees for adult learners through programs such as online courses and college-level proficiency examinations. It is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
