- Douglasville police are seeking the identity of an auto repair shop burglary suspect. On Friday, Jun. 17, a suspect stole a safe out of the Express Oil Change & Tire on Douglas Blvd. The suspect was caught on surveillance footage that can be seen on the Douglasville Police Department's website. - The City of Douglasville has announced that City Hall will remain closed for roofing renovations until Tuesday, Jul. 5. The renovations are expected to take two weeks to repair. Originally, it was announced that City Hall would be closed until Friday, Jul. 1. (Press Release Desk )
- A fox that chased a family and attacked its pet in Douglas County is confirmed to have had rabies. The aggressive fox chased the family around Mann Road and Richardson Road on Jun. 24. It was found dead in the backyard and testing confirmed it had rabies. The pet that was attacked was vaccinated against rabies before the attack. (Douglasville Patch)
- A recent Georgia law states when and where citizens may shoot common consumer fireworks on private property. The City Of Douglasville reminded residents that on Jul. 3 and 4, they can shoot fireworks from 10:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. without a local permit to celebrate the Independence Day holiday. - Douglasville South Paulding offensive lineman Madden Sanker has set his commitment date. Sanker, one of the top recruits for the class of 2023 tweeted on Tuesday that he will announce his commitment on Monday, Jul. 11 at 3:00 p.m. He will be choosing from Louisville, Georgia, Michigan State, Miami, and Arkansas.
