1. Douglasville Police warn parents to watch out for their kids, "who they are with, and where they go because a situation that is seemingly innocent can quickly turn negative as seen over this past weekend." The incident mentioned was a huge brawl that turned into chaos at Arbor Place Mall on Saturday, Sep. 3. Douglasville Police are actively investigating and said charges are coming for anyone who committed criminal acts. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
2. District 4 Commissioner Ann Jones Guider will host two Town Hall meetings. The first meeting is today, Sep. 8, at 6:00 p.m. at Dog River Library. The second meeting is Thursday, Sep. 15, at 6:00 p.m. at Clinton Nature Center Preserve. Commissioner Guider invites residents to attend one of the two meetings. (Press Release Desk)
3. District 1 Commissioner Henry Mitchell III partnered with Higher Standard Foundation to bring the community a Free Resource and Job Event Fair on Wednesday, Sep. 14. 4. The Cultural Arts Council (CAC) Douglasville/Douglas County, located on Campbellton Street in Douglasville, was recently awarded a grant by Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA).
