Temperatures will be spiking this weekend in Georgia. Here's the latest weather forecast.

ATLANTA, Ga. — Temperatures this weekend will get to the upper 90s, with the heat index, or "feels like" temperature, reaching nearly 100 degrees.

There's also a threat of isolated severe thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.

"Dangerous heat index values wil mean that heat exhaustion or heat stroke can quickly occur to anyone working outside or participating in outdoor activities," notes a NWS statement.

Locally damaging winds and frequent lightning will be the most likely hazards of any strong to severe storms, according to the weather service.
