- Yesterday, Sep. 30, a Douglas County High School student was detained by local authorities and is facing charges of terroristic threats and disrupting public schools. According to school officials he was "frustrated with his school status" and police and his family said he could pose a threat. When administrators saw him walking toward the school, the school went into lockdown and he was detained by authorities. (Douglasville Patch)
- Yaron Kathuri has been missing for several days and his family is asking the public for help. According to his family, he was last seen in Douglasville, wearing a white NASA hoodie and black pants, and driving a gold color 1998 Lexus ES300 GA tag RKH0784. - Douglas County law enforcement created a parade for 7-year-old Landon, who is having serious medical issues. About 20 patrol cars from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Douglasville Police Department, and other units stopped by Landon's home to put a smile on his face and show him their support and love. - On Monday, Oct. 3, jury selection will begin for the retrial of Dewey Calhoun Green, who was accused of running over and killing 53-year-old Janice Pitts of Douglasville with his truck on Highway 5 in Douglasville in 2014. He faces malice murder, felony murder, and three counts of aggravated assault against Pitts, her daughter Iesha Davis, and 4-year-old grandson Kemani Price. (Longview News-Journal)
