  1. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office released the daily arrest report for Sep. 8 yesterday. A total of 30 arrests were made in the county ranging from terroristic acts and threats to forgery in the third degree. Of the arrests made, nine were Douglasville residents.
  2. COVID-19 boosters, monkeypox vaccines, and flu shots are currently available in Douglasville. The Douglas Public Health Center is offering all of the mentioned vaccinations, as well as monkeypox testing, at its facility on Selman Drive. The seven-day average for COVID-19 cases is currently 128 in Douglas County. (Daily Advent - Douglasville Local News)
  3. The Douglas County Butterfly Tail Exploration Challenge winners have been announced. The grand prize winner of the challenge was Melody Brown. Second place in the event went to Kedra Williams-Landers, while Rebecca Raymer came in third place. (Douglas County Butterfly Trail via Facebook)
  4. The Douglas County Education Foundation is partnering with the Atlanta Falcons to show the community you can enjoy football season while supporting the local school system. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket to see the Falcons take on the 49ers on Oct. 16, purchase it here through The Foundation's fundraiser.   5. The closure of Atlanta Medical Center will impact more than just the city, Douglas County Fire/EMS Chief Roderick Jolivette said. When the Level 1 trauma center closes on Nov. 1, it leaves just Grady Memorial Hospital servicing metro counties that need to transport for more care. Jolivette said, “It’s a big blow.
