Here are the top five stories today in Douglasville:

  1. Calling all football fans: you can now enjoy a game while supporting your local school system! The Douglas County Education Foundation (DCEF) is partnering with the Atlanta Falcons to sell tickets to the Falcons/San Francisco 49ers matchup on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. A portion of all proceeds will go directly to DCEF, which aims to raise funds to support enrichment programs as well as to recognize excellence within the county's school system.   2. Each year, the first Wednesday in October marks National Coffee with a Cop Day. The Douglasville Police Department is getting in on the fun with this year's Coffee with a Cop 2022 on Wednesday, Oct. 5. The community is invited to the Dunkin' Donuts on Fairburn Road from 10-11 a.m. to join local officers for coffee and conversation. Those seeking additional details can contact Sgt.   3. The Partners in Education (PIE) of Douglas County Georgia has announced its Taste of PIE cookbook fundraiser. Between now and Dec. 1, PIE encourages members of the community to purchase a cookbook, share a recipe for consideration, or take out an advertisement for their business or organization.
