Flash Flood Warning Issued in Douglas County

The National Weather Service said the warned area, including east-central Douglas, has had up to 3 inches of rain, with more expected.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Flash Flood Warning for east-central Douglas County and southwestern Fulton County.

The warning is in effect until 12:15 a.m. Thursday.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PEACHTREE CITY HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR EAST CENTRAL DOUGLAS COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL GEORGIA AND SOUTHWESTERN FULTON COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL GEORGIA.

UNTIL 1215 AM EDT THURSDAY

AT 612 PM EDT, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A THUNDERSTORM PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. UP TO THREE INCHES OF RAIN HAVE ALREADY FALLEN, AND AN ADDITIONAL INCH OR MORE OF RAIN IS POSSIBLE THROUGH 6:45 PM EDT. FLASH FLOODING IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN SHORTLY.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE SANDTOWN AND CAMPBELLTON. THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING STREAMS AND DRAINAGES: CROOKED CREEK, ANNEEWAKEE CREEK, CAMP CREEK, SWEETWATER CREEK, DRY CREEK, WOLF CREEK AND DEEP CREEK.
