- Now through Sep. 3, Connect Douglas will be offering free rides to the community on its fixed route, flex route, and paratransit bus services. The gratis trips are being offered in commemoration of the third anniversary of the Fixed Route Bus Service. Learn more about Connect Douglas and all the third-anniversary festivities here. - The Douglasville Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying suspects in a burglary. According to authorities, the incident took place on the early evening of Jun. 15 at 8297 Max Court. Anyone with information on the suspects or the case is asked to contact Detective Williams by phone (678-293-1747) or email (williamss@douglasvillega.gov).(Douglasville Police Department)
- The Lost Art Music Festival continues today (Saturday, Jun. 18) at the Foxhall Resort. The two-day event, which features "eclectic and lively Americana" music, kicked off last night. Today's lineup includes Southern Avenue, The Lone Bellow, and Rayland Baxter. (AllEvents.in)
- The Georgia Department of Transportation has begun work on the resurfacing project between SR 166 and Central Church Road. GDOT crews started by installing lane closures on SR 5/Bill Arp Road in Douglas County. The $2.2 million project is expected to be completed later this summer. (Press Release Desk)
- The Douglas County Board of Commissioners announced the appointment of Teesha Carter as its Director of Human Resources. The position oversees the department's administration, coordination, and function and is responsible for leading a team of HR professionals. Carter is scheduled to begin her new role on Jul. 5.
