DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — Two parents are facing child abuse charges after authorities say their 5-month-old infant suffered more than 30 broken bones in Douglas County.
Allegations stretch back to Aug. 24, when the infant was taken to the emergency room, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.
At the time, medical staff found the infant suffered at least 30 broken bones in various healing stages, authorities said.

During their investigation, authorities said they determined the child spent the first four months of their life in the neonatal intensive care unit and had been in the custody of their 20-year-old parents for about six weeks.
Authorities said they interviewed family members, witnesses and pediatricians during their probe.

"Medical professionals indicated that the injuries were consistent with prolonged and repeated abuse," authorities said in a news release.
Ultimately, authorities accused parents William King and Amber Rivera of harming their baby.
The duo was arrested on charges of aggravated battery, conspiracy to commit a felony, first-degree cruelty to children, second-degree cruelty to children, criminal attempt to commit murder and obstruction, authorities said. Douglas County Jail records on Tuesday showed King was arrested Friday.
Douglas County Magistrate Judge Susan Camp denied bond for both of them, authorities said.
