Here are the top five stories today in Douglasville:

1. President and founder of BlackPush, Shaun Smith, brought law enforcement leaders together to discuss gun violence in metro Atlanta. The nonprofit leader organized a roundtable on Saturday. Smith said there is an urgent need to have more conversations about gun violence prevention and how mental health issues play a part. (CBS 46 News)

3. The Douglas County Humane Society, with Top Dog Sitter, will hold the Blessing of the Animals at Trinity Anglican Church on Oct. 8. The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Douglasville church. 4. The Hunters Harvest Fall Festival will take place on Oct. 15 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Hunter Park in Douglasville. The event is free and open to the public. 5. Douglas County District 3 Commissioner Tarenia Carthan is holding a Town Hall on Tuesday.
