Here are the top five stories today in Douglasville:

  1. This Saturday, the Douglas County Stingrays will swim for Swim Across America at Lake Lanier's Olympic Park. This is the second year the Stingrays are participating in the event. Swimmers include Emma Staudigl, Abi Atwell, Audrey Atwell, Addison Cheatwood, Ryder Griffin, Logan Meadows, and Morgan Guin. The Swim Across America event has a goal of raising $5,000 to support the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of the Children's Hospital of Atlanta. (Newnan Times-Herald)
  2. Chris Cartwright, the PGA professional at West Pines Golf Course here in Douglasville, won the Georgia PGA Professional Championship on Tuesday in Adairsville. Cartwright earned a two-shot win and finished at 3-under 141. Other competitors came from Atlanta, Tucker, Suwanee, and St. Simons. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  3. Police believe that a missing 24-year-old Douglasville woman may be dead and they are looking for a second suspect. Police arrested Diante Reynolds and are still looking for Steve Oboite. The victim, Allahnia Lenoir, was last seen on Jul. 31 at an apartment in midtown Atlanta visiting a friend. Police believe Lenoir was murdered at that location, but her body has not been found.   4. Adela Briana Espinoza, a missing 16-year-old, has been safely located. She had last been seen at her residence in nearby Lithia Springs on Friday, Sep. 16 around 10:23 p.m. The Douglas County Sheriff's Department put out a BOLO on Espinoza, and shared on social media Wednesday afternoon that the teen had been found.
